Job summary

Morson Edge at Harwell, UK, is recruiting a Systems Engineer for the propulsion centre of excellence. You will contribute to propulsion subsystem design, requirements management, and project lifecycle activities in a cross-functional team.

Working within the Space Engineering discipline, you will engage with MAIT/ Architecture, perform analyses with EcosimPro, MATLAB, and Python, and support instrumentation, testing, and integration at multiple project stages.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a space engineering discipline or related subjects.
• Direct experience in space engineering and propulsion is desirable.
• Experience in propulsion system design and development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work package and study management to ensure engineering delivery.
• Provide regular progress reporting to project teams and TAS management.
• Lead propulsion subsystem activities during Phase A–E for satellite programmes.
• Be the primary technical contact for propulsion in MAIT and Architecture.
• Translate mission requirements into baseline propulsion TRD documents.
• Support subsystem trade-offs and optimization of satellite design.
• Prepare subsystem design justification for major design reviews.
• Present subsystem design decisions during reviews with PMO and other subsystems.
• Consolidate technical documentation through project milestones.
• Develop integration and test plans; advance analysis tools.
