Job summary

MDA Space is seeking a Project Manager for our UK office to oversee space hardware/software projects from concept to delivery. You will coordinate across technical, production, validation and quality teams, manage schedules, budgets and risks, and help identify new business opportunities within the space community.

The role requires 5+ years of project leadership experience in space or related industries, strong communication, and ability to work across multiple projects and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent) required.
• At least 5 years of experience managing technical projects.
• Direct experience in design and development of space flight hardware and/or software.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with project lifecycle from bid through execution and close down.
• Familiarity with Project Advantage or other scheduling tools.
• Ability to motivate people and take initiative.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly to diverse audiences.
• Managing and reporting on project budget and resources to senior management.
• Defining, mitigating and managing project risks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure standards, processes and controls across all project phases.
• Set-out and agree work-packages for HW/SW deliveries.
• Capture and manage risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.
• Coordinate with technical, production, validation and quality teams to de-risk schedules.
• Contribute to new business opportunities and expansion in the space community.
• Handle multiple projects for multiple customers.
