Job summary

SURrey Satellite Technology Ltd. in Guildford seeks a Project Manager at the start of their career to lead and motivate a team across cradle-to-grave space missions. You will be involved from concept design to AIT, launch and commissioning, delivering for a diverse customer base including institutional, export and defence.

You will manage studies or small projects, coordinate engineering activities, and drive successful outcomes within budget and schedule in a fast-paced space environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years project management experience in satellite/aerospace.
• Experience managing customer relationships and interfacing with stakeholders.
• Understanding of contract implementation and delivery within a project environment.
• Familiarity with work package management in a matrix structure.

Responsibilities

• Manage small projects or support larger programmes through development and delivery.
• Lead day-to-day activities of the project core team to stay aligned with baseline plans.
• Define and structure work packages; allocate resources and responsibilities.
• Manage communications and stakeholder engagement with customers and internal functions.
• Plan and lead project reviews with objectives, inputs, outputs and success criteria.
• Identify and mitigate key project risks and integrate into planning.
• Monitor financial performance, contingency management and cost-to-complete forecasting.
• Prepare cost packs and materials for business development and future opportunities.
• Support SSTL bid activities with programme management input.
