Job summary

MDA Space is seeking an experienced Lab Manager to oversee the labs and cleanroom operations across three UK locations. You will lead policy development, ensure quality control, and maintain ESD and COSHH compliance.

Based in the Harwell/DIDCOT area, the role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and travel between sites. You’ll partner with Engineering and Operations to maintain high reliability in space hardware testing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the space/high-reliability industry in a similar role.
• Lab management or electrical engineering background.
• Willingness to travel between UK locations.
• Knowledge of ESD control measures.
• Understanding of ECSS standards and COSHH management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee labs and cleanroom operations across three UK locations.
• Develop and enforce laboratory policies, procedures and QA.
• Maintain ESD, COSHH, health & safety compliance and training.
• Manage lab assets, calibration, procurement and inventories.
• Coordinate lab access, space allocation and equipment maintenance.
