Job summary

MDA Space UK is seeking an experienced Lab Manager to oversee the laboratories and cleanrooms across our three UK locations. You will implement policies, ensure quality control and maintain COSHH and ESD standards while coordinating lab assets and procurement.

The role requires 5+ years in space or high reliability industries, hands-on engineering experience, and the ability to travel between sites. You will lead safety, training and equipment calibration to support advanced satellite sensor

Qualifications

• 5+ years in space or high reliability industries in a similar role.
• Background in lab management, electrical engineering, or testing electrical units for satellite applications.
• Strong hands-on skills and leadership qualities.
• Willingness to travel between UK locations to maintain labs and cleanrooms.
• Understanding of the space operating environment and related lab practices.
• Clean room experience and ECSS awareness.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations including COSHH management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day running of laboratories and cleanrooms across locations.
• Developing, implementing and policing laboratory policies and procedures.
• Ensuring quality control measures and ESD compliance.
• Managing lab assets, space allocation and maintenance.
• Equipment calibration and coordination with manufacturers.
• Maintaining laboratory inventories and procurement of equipment.
• COSHH management and training lab users on procedures.
