Job summary

Astroscale UK is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Ground Segment Software team in Harwell, UK. You will contribute to the Ground Segment of the ELSA-M mission and other projects, designing, developing and maintaining mission-critical software solutions.

Candidates should have 5+ years of full stack development experience, OO programming in Java/Python/C++, and frontend experience with React.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in mission-critical software or space-adjacent industries.
• 5+ years full stack development experience.
• 5+ years OO programming (Java, Python or C++).
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React).
• Experience with containerisation and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services.
• Architect and build dynamic frontend UIs.
• Design, manage and optimise databases for performance and integrity.
• Build and manage containerised apps with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines; improve delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features.
• Troubleshoot across the full stack; participate in SCRUM ceremonies.
• Lead and participate in SCRUM rituals and planning.
