Job summary

Astroscale UK is seeking a technically strong Computer Vision engineer to join our UK-based team, a key part of our global Algorithms and Software Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, verification, and deployment of advanced computer vision algorithms and software for spacecraft and ground systems.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
Minimum 2 years' industrial or research experience in computer vision algorithm development.
Strong understanding of image processing, ML and deep learning for CV applications.
Experience developing CV algorithms from concept to deployment.
Proactive, self-managing and capable of cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Strong programming in Python/Matlab/C/C++ with OpenCV, TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Responsibilities

Design and develop CV algorithms for space object detection and tracking, and 6DoF pose estimation.
Define CV subsystem architectures, requirements and performance budgets.
Contribute to verification, validation planning and execution.
Support integration and testing of flight software implementations.
Assist hardware procurement and supplier collaboration.
Collaborate with Systems, GNC, Flight Dynamics for software/hardware compatibility.
Conduct state-of-the-art CV research for ASUK missions.
