Job summary

Astroscale UK (Harwell) is seeking a Senior Computer Vision engineer to design, develop and deploy advanced CV algorithms for spacecraft and ground systems. You will work within the UK Algorithms and Software Group on space-object detection, tracking and pose estimation, interfacing with hardware and flight software teams.

You will lead algorithm verification activities, contribute to system-level design, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced space environment.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in computer vision algorithm development and deployment.
• Strong understanding of CV principles, image processing, ML/DL techniques.
• Experience deploying CV algorithms from concept through validation and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop CV algorithms for object detection, tracking, and 6DoF pose estimation for space.
• Define CV subsystem architectures, requirements and performance budgets.
• Support CV hardware procurement and integration with testing campaigns.
• Collaborate with Systems, GNC, Flight Dynamics to ensure software/hardware performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and review peers' work.
