NHS Grampian is seeking a Pharmacy Senior Support Worker for a fixed-term contract at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The role entails preparing injectable medicines in the aseptic service and requires reliability and a keen interest in healthcare, supported by in-house training.
Pharmacy Senior Support worker - Band 3
1 year fixed term contract
Aseptic Service, Pharmacy Department, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
37 hours per week (Core hours Monday to Friday 08.00 17.00)
The Aseptic service support worker is required to provide accurate, high quality, time dependant medicine for patients with specific medical conditions.
Duties will include preparing injectable medicines in a clean room environment, stock control, stock rotation, filing of paperwork, dispensing of prescriptions, setting up medicine trays required for aseptic dispensing, environmental monitoring, cleaning within the aseptic area rooms, packaging and packing items for onward transport.
IT and Pharmacy experience is essential, in house training will be provided. Applicants should be conscientious, reliable and have an interest in healthcare services. The successful applicant will work under supervision within the clean room environment when preparing injectable medicines.
Weekend /Public Holiday working will be required on a rota basis.
