Job summary

Manthorpe Building Products, part of the Genuit Group, is seeking an Area Sales Manager for the South West region. The role involves converting sales leads, building strong relationships with merchants, distributors, builders and contractors, and driving revenue across key accounts.

Based in or around Swindon or the South Wiltshire area, you will travel across the UK to meet customers, provide product knowledge, and ensure quotes meet customer needs. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in external sales or account management within construction-related sectors.
• Background working with merchants or distributors.
• Strong planning and organisational skills for managing a busy territory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to prepare accurate quotations and presentations.
• Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Convert sales leads into profitable opportunities across existing, new, and target accounts.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with merchants, distributors, builders and contractors.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the market.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and market intelligence (Salesforce).
• Prepare clear quotations and proposals tailored to customer needs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align resources with customer requirements.
• Provide expert product knowledge across the full portfolio.
• Identify opportunities to expand within existing accounts and win new business.
• Contribute to sales strategies, bids and growth initiatives.
• Support launch and promotion of new products in the territory.
• Stay informed on industry trends and developments to maintain market position.
