Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our Clients team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in supervising kitchen staff and managing daily kitchen operations.
- Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety practices in accordance with health regulations.
- Help with menu planning, including developing new recipes and specials to enhance the dining experience.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
- Participate in food production, ensuring timely delivery of meals during service hours.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, preferably within a restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation standards.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse kitchen team.
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes that exceed guest expectations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's operational needs.
