Company Description

Searcys is seeking a Sous Chef to join their team at the private members' restaurant in the Honourable Society of The Inner Temple.

About the Role: As the Sous Chef, you will deputise and manage the Pegasus kitchen during the Senior Sous Chef's absence, supporting daily operations across the kitchen department. This position is Monday to Friday.

About the Venue: The Honourable Society of The Inner Temple, located on the Thames, is a historic Georgian-style event hall surrounded by a three-acre private garden. It is one of Searcys' most prestigious venues.

Job Description:

As a key member of the kitchen team, you will ensure food quality and consistency by following approved recipes for the private members' restaurant. The salary is £37,000 plus generous gratuities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage ordering, HACCP, Health and Safety, and daily kitchen operations
  • Oversee all aspects of A La Carte lunch and dinner dishes
  • Organise stock and ingredients, monitor waste and stock levels
  • Maintain storage standards
  • Support development of new recipes, menus, and dishes for Pegasus
Qualifications:
  • Formal culinary training
  • Experience in a restaurant environment, cooking A La Carte dishes
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Safety standards
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Creative, personable, and outgoing personality
