Title: Sous Chef

Location: Flagship location in head office of global music brand, based in the heart of Kings Cross

Team: Fun and friendly team with a good mix of retail and hospitality

Salary: up to £38,000 per annum

  • 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

As a Sous Chef, you will collaborate with our culinary team to craft flavorful dishes that nourish both body and mind. You should have excellent presentation, organizational, and communication skills, along with a passion for food & service and enthusiasm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, production, and service.
  • Ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes meet standards and client expectations.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, considering dietary restrictions, nutritional guidelines, and seasonal ingredients.
  • Oversee stock control and ordering to maintain inventory levels while minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with the catering team for special events and culinary initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following health and safety regulations.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and record-keeping of food costs and inventory.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, culinary techniques, and new ingredients.
  • Foster a positive working environment through leadership, effective communication, and teamwork.

Preferred experience includes working in a similar role within contract catering or educational institutions, with a minimum of one year as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP. A culinary degree or relevant certifications are required, along with strong knowledge of food safety standards. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
