Job summary

Eurest is seeking a passionate Sous Chef for our site in Waltham on the Wolds. You will prepare breakfasts and lunches, maintain high kitchen standards, and support daily operations in a busy catering environment.

The role offers a great work-life balance, with Monday to Friday hours from 7:00am to 3:00pm and evenings free, plus the opportunity to contribute to fresh, quality food and a welcoming dining experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a Sous Chef or similar role.
• A genuine passion for food, with a focus on quality, consistency and presentation.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage stock, ordering and kitchen paperwork.
• A strong understanding of food safety, health and safety, and kitchen compliance.
• A positive, hands‑on approach and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Flexibility and confidence to support the wider team and step up when required.
• A full, valid driving licence is essential, as there is no public transport available to the site.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking delicious breakfasts and lunches for our customers.
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Helping with menu planning and ensuring our food offering remains fresh and appealing.
• Managing stock levels, completing stock takes and placing orders.
• Completing daily kitchen paperwork and ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed.
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and kitchen compliance.
• Serving customers and helping to create a welcoming dining experience.
• Supporting and covering other team members during periods of annual leave.
• Taking responsibility and stepping up when needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
