Job Description

As a Sous Chef, you will collaborate with our culinary team to craft flavorful dishes that nourish both body and mind. You should have excellent presentation, organizational, and communication skills, along with a passion for food & service and enthusiasm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver breakfasts and lunches for meeting rooms daily, along with canapés, finger foods, and fine dining covers for events.
  • Assist the Head Chef in creating and executing high-end plated dishes, stylish buffets, canapés, bowls, and finger foods for corporate and private events.
  • Play a key role in large-scale event delivery and VIP functions.
  • Oversee kitchen operations from food prep and service to stock control, ensuring compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development and maintain culinary standards; lead the kitchen when the Head Chef is away.
  • Support the retail restaurant as needed, maintaining high standards across all areas.
  • Thrive under pressure, bring fresh ideas, be solutions-focused, and passionate about food.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role within a contract catering company or educational institution preferred.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings.
  • Enthusiastic, well-organized, team player, flexible approach.
