Sous Chef Required - Live-in available up to £27,000 plus tips - holiday pay

We are looking for a well seasoned Sous Chef to join our friendly and professional kitchen team focusing on local fresh produce "Best of British" with this in mind we would like our sous chef from a gastropub or busy country inn.

The setting

Our client offers everything you would expect from the quintessential country inn, charming, quaint and full of character. Oak beams, flint and brick walls, blackboards brimming with temptations, open fireplaces, cosy seating with wood and stone flooring, and candlelit tables overlooking a stunning large garden and the South Downs. If you are a Sous Chef that loves seasonal dishes and charming surroundings this is the role for you. The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons and very well set out to execute smooth and busy services, with sections and working space has been very well looked after.

  • As Sous Chef a team motivator and all-out foodie
  • Prepare fresh dishes, following recipes and presentation specifications
  • Adhere to all food hygiene, safety standards & company standard
  • Manage team in absence of the head chef
  • Motivate and develop existing brigade
  • As sous chef we want you to be positive and productive
  • Must be used to fast-paced kitchens as Sunday service can do 240 covers
  • Transport is essential
