Chestnut is seeking a Sous Chef for The Maltings in Weybourne, North Norfolk, where an open kitchen and a buzzing service await. You’ll work with the Head Chef to maintain high standards from breakfast through dinner and lead a cohesive team in a coastal hotel kitchen.
Join a property with two AA Rosettes, a Michelin Guide listing and a reputation for creative seasonal menus. Leadership, calm under pressure and a passion for guest experience are essential to thrive here.
An open kitchen, a vaulted flint barn and a team that’s still writing the story.
The Maltings is a 28-bedroom coastal hotel in the village of Weybourne, a stone’s throw from the sea. At its heart is The Grain Store, our flint barn restaurant. It holds two AA Rosettes and a Michelin Guide listing, and Condé Nast Traveller named it one of the Top 21 New Restaurants of 2024. The hotel itself is AA four-star. Around it sit the Main House, a Bottle Shop and our wellness rooms.
Our food is made to be shared: seasonal small plates, hearty Sunday roasts and menus that sometimes change on the day. The kitchen is open to the dining room, so you’re part of the energy and theatre of service. We’re looking for a Sous Chef to help keep that standard high and to help shape what comes next.
You’ll work alongside the Head Chef as the steady hand and second voice in the kitchen. That means an eye for detail, a calm head on a busy Saturday night and the instinct to bring a team with you.
The Maltings is part of Chestnut, a growing group of pubs with rooms and Bottle Shops across East Anglia. We’re proud yet humble, and at our core we always strive to do the best we can for our people. Our team members are at the heart of who we are, which is why we offer a variety of hours to suit your personal commitments.
Weybourne sits on the North Norfolk coast, with big skies, shingle beach and some of the best walking in the county. Sheringham station is eight minutes away by taxi, and Holt is an eleven-minute drive.
