Job summary

Mitchells & Butler PLC is seeking a proactive Sous Chef for The White Horse Hotel within Castle Pubs. You’ll run a kitchen section, lead a small team, and step up in the Head Chef’s absence to keep service smooth and menus on brand.

You’ll train and inspire your team, manage food ordering and stock, and ensure health and hygiene standards while delivering great dishes that reflect our branded menus and guest expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience as sous chef or senior cook in branded pubs/restaurants.
• Proven ability to manage a kitchen and lead a team.
• Experience with branded menus and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a kitchen section and supervise the kitchen team.
• Assist Head Chef with ordering, prep, and stock control.
• Ensure compliance with health and hygiene regulations.
• Deliver high-quality dishes on a branded menu.
• Train and inspire staff to meet service standards.
