We’re looking for a passionate and ambitious Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a charming country house hotel set in the heart of the Cotswolds. With new ownership at the helm, this is an exciting time to become part of the journey as the hotel undergoes modernisation and renovation to restore its former glory and elevate its dining experience to a new standard.

About the Role:

As Sous Chef, you’ll play a key leadership role in the kitchen—working closely with the Head Chef to shape the future of the food offering across the hotel’s dining outlets, which include a fine dining restaurant, a relaxed bistro, and traditional afternoon teas. You will:

Support in day-to-day kitchen management and service delivery.

Assist in leading and mentoring a small team of chefs and kitchen staff.

Uphold excellent food standards, presentation, and consistency.

Take an active role in menu development and the revitalisation of the food offering.

Ensure cleanliness, organisation, and compliance across all kitchen operations.

Step up in the Head Chef’s absence to maintain smooth service.

Experience in a Sous Chef role or as a strong Junior Sous ready to step up.

Confident across all sections of the kitchen and capable of leading service.

Committed to seasonal, locally sourced produce and quality-driven cooking.

Organised, calm under pressure, and a natural leader.

Strong awareness of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen compliance.
