Job summary

Fowey Hall Hotel, part of the Luxury Family Hotels group, is looking for a Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Fowey, Cornwall. You will contribute to creating exceptional dishes, lead a kitchen team, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.

This permanent role is 48 hours per week over 5 days, with a salary of £40,706 per annum plus service charge and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-quality restaurant or hotel setting.
• Culinary qualifications and a strong understanding of cooking techniques.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with a passion for developing the team.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Development of recipes: helping with seasonal menu writing, and preparing high-quality dishes
• Kitchen Management: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and adherence to all health and safety standards.
• Team Leadership: Lead and inspire the kitchen team, providing guidance, training, and support to junior kitchen staff.
• Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Ordering and Inventory: Monitor stock levels, and place orders as needed to ensure a well-stocked and organized kitchen.

Role Overview

As a Sous Chef at Fowey Hall Hotel you will be a key player in our culinary team, contributing to the creation of exceptional dishes that reflect our commitment to quality. This role requires a creative and dedicated individual with a strong culinary background, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering an unforgettable dining experience.

This a permanent role, at 48 hours per week over 5 days (including weekends), with an annual salary of £40,706 plus generous service charge and a brilliant benefit package.

Responsibilities

• Development of recipes: helping with seasonal menu writing, and preparing high-quality dishes
• Kitchen Management: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and adherence to all health and safety standards.

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who:
