Job summary

Turtle Bay Hospitality Limited in Exeter is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join our Caribbean kitchen and beach bar. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef to lead and inspire the team, delivering dishes full of flavour with energy and care.

You’ll manage kitchen operations, prep, cooking, training, and stock control in a fast-paced environment, while upholding high standards, teamwork, and memorable guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience as sous chef or senior chef preferred.
• Ability to lead a kitchen team and motivate staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the kitchen team alongside the Head Chef.
• Manage prep, cooking and ensure high standards of food quality.
• Train new chefs and support stock management and health & safety standards.

About the Role

As a Sous Chef at Turtle Bay, you'll be second in command in the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef to lead and inspire the team. You'll bring positive energy and a calm, supportive presence to every shift, helping to maintain high standards while delivering dishes full of flavour and made with love.

You’ll support in managing all aspects of kitchen operations – from prepping and cooking to training new chefs and supporting stock and health & safety standards. You’ll be hands‑on, leading by example and helping your team to thrive in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment.

We’re looking for someone who loves cooking with soul, takes pride in quality, and understands the importance of teamwork in the kitchen. You’ll be passionate about food and people, focused on creating great guest experiences, and ready to bring your best to every shift.
