Job summary

Blue Arrow is recruiting an experienced Sous Chef to join a busy school catering team in Eastbourne on an ongoing temporary basis. The role offers daytime hours with no evenings or weekends, and starts from 2nd September 2026.

You will support the Head Chef with meal preparation, menu planning, and daily food production while ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety. A valid Enhanced DBS is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Senior Chef in high-volume catering.
• Able to work efficiently in a busy kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
• DBS certificate is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef in preparation and service of meals.
• Assist with menu planning and daily production.
• Ensure food hygiene and safety standards are maintained.
• Supervise kitchen staff when required.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sous Chef to join a busy school catering team in Eastbourne on an ongoing temporary basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented chef looking for a great work-life balance, with daytime hours and no evening or weekend work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Head Chef in the preparation and service of nutritious, high-quality meals
• Assisting with menu preparation and daily food production
• Ensuring food hygiene and health & safety standards are maintained at all times
• Supervising kitchen staff when required
• Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a high-volume catering environment
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations
• A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate is essential
• Reliability and excellent teamwork skills
