Working alongside our senior Chefs, you’ll contribute to the evolution of seasonal, sustainable menus and bring new ideas to life. People are our priority, you support the smooth running of the kitchen through effective organisation, preparation and training, with our people at the heart of what we do.
Play an active role in daily kitchen operations, ensuring freshness, quality and efficiency. Champion seasonal and sustainable cooking through the use of home-grown and foraged estate produce, alongside innovative techniques and natural ingredients.
Monitor stock levels, rotation and waste, ensuring inventory checks, purchasing and deliveries are completed correctly. Maintain daily product quality and operational standards, including cleaning schedules, temperature records and opening and closing checklists, ensuring all procedures are completed consistently across your areas of responsibility.
Support fellow chefs across stations and communicate proactively across facilities, contributing to a collaborative, people-focused environment where we believe in having fun by making others happy and able to translate the Head Chef’s expectations into clear achievable actions.
Work closely with kitchen stewards to maintain a safe, sanitary and immaculate kitchen. Prepare, cook and present high-quality dishes with consistency, care and attention to detail, adapting to dietary requirements and evolving recipes.
You uphold our exceptional culinary standards while demonstrating passion and flare in the pursuit of service excellence. We respect people, places, and culture and as an Ambassador of Taymouth Castle - spokesperson, advocate, and supporter. Be actively involved in day-to-day operations through observance and collaborating proactively with all team members across our wide range of facilities. Conduct and drive department meetings and attend wider business meetings where necessary.
You have a genuine passion for cooking, with experience in a luxury hospitality or estate environment, ideally within a small team. You deliver refined, personalised service with a strong eye for detail and a commitment to quality and excellence. Warm, approachable and authentic, you bring your personality to everything you do. You lead by example, inspiring and supporting your team to achieve their best. Passionate about developing future talent, you willingly share your skills and knowledge to help build a high-performing, world-class team.

You have excellent time management and critical thinking skills, with the ability to remain composed under pressure, manage competing priorities and work independently. Flexible and adaptable, you’re willing to adjust your working hours and approach to meet the needs of the business, particularly during busy periods or emergencies.
