Job summary

RED Hotels is seeking a Wine Specialist / Sommelier to join the Food & Beverage team across Scarlet Hotel and Bedruthan Hotel & Spa in Cornwall. You will craft bespoke wine pairings, guide guests through our curated list, and lead engaging tastings to elevate dining experiences.

The role supports growth with training, qualifications, and a commitment to sustainability. A passion for storytelling and guest service is essential in a family-owned Cornish business.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of wine styles, regions and pairings.
• Ability to guide guests and tell stories around wines.
• Strong guest-facing communication and engagement.

Responsibilities

• Create bespoke wine pairings for seasonal menus.
• Guide guests through our wine list with expert recommendations.
• Lead wine tastings and small-group experiences for guests.
• Deliver warm, personalised service throughout the guest journey.
• Maintain wine stock, cellar organisation and proper storage/rotation.
• Support the team with wine knowledge and service training.
• Develop and evolve the wine offering with trends and guest preferences.
• Continue personal wine development through training and qualifications.
