Job summary

undisclosed in Farnborough/ High Wycombe is seeking an architecture-focused contractor to translate requirements into IERs for data feed integrations and to shape the future architecture roadmap. The role involves reviews under the technical design authority, collaboration with infrastructure, data, and application teams, and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.

The position is on a contract basis, with a requirement for Active MOD SC clearance and UK nationality.

Qualifications

• Active MOD SC clearance and UK nationality.
• Experience with on-premises infrastructure and VMWare.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container platforms.
• Ability to translate requirements into IERs for data feed integrations.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into IER for the data feed integrations for various project use cases.
• Shape overall solution architecture and aid in future architecture roadmap.
• Review technical designs and participate in discussions around infrastructure, data, platform and applications.
• Define target-state architectures and technology roadmaps.
• Lead architectural governance and collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, data and applications teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Duration: contract to run until 05/03/2027

Location: Farnborough/ High Wycombe. 1 day a week in Farnborough with ability to regularly travel to High Wycombe

Rate: up to £1012 p/d Umbrellainside IR35

Clearance required: ActiveMOD SC Clearance. UK National

Primary deliverables

• Translation of requirements into IER (information exchange requirements for the data feed integrations for various project use cases)

Secondary deliverables

• Shaping overall solution architecture and aiding the design of the future architecture vision and roadmap

Supporting activities

• Reviews under technical design authority, support in technical discussions and meetings around infrastructure, data, platform and application

Technical Skills & Experience

• On-Premises Infrastructure (VMWare stack)
• Understand and input into reviewed, and decision surrounding, design and deployment of container-based application architectures, supporting scalability, resilience, and modern application delivery practices.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration and enterprise container platforms.
• Data Fabric Architecture
• Design and integration of enterprise data fabric solutions, including:
• API-led connectivity and integration
• Data connectors and integration services
• Data movement and interoperability across platforms
• Understanding of architecture and implementation of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to support automated build, test, and release processes.

Preferred Responsibilities

• Define target-state architectures and technology roadmaps.
• Lead technical design reviews and provide architectural governance.
• Collaborate with, lead and challenge engineering, infrastructure, data, and application teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient solutions.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards (JSP453 & Architecture Policy)
