Job summary

Searchability is seeking a Data & Solution Architect to translate business requirements into Information Exchange Requirements and shape the target-state architecture. You will contribute to roadmaps across infrastructure, data, platforms and applications in a secure, scalable, and resilient environment.

This contract role requires delivering enterprise data fabric solutions, real-time streaming, API-led connectivity, and robust CI/CD practices within a UK Defence context.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Solution Architecture / Data Architecture.
• Strong experience translating requirements into Information Exchange Requirements (IERs).
• Experience with enterprise data fabric architecture.
• Strong understanding of data integration and interoperability.
• Experience with real-time data streaming.
• Strong understanding of API-led connectivity and integration.
• Experience with data connectors and integration services.
• Strong Kubernetes and enterprise container platform knowledge.
• Experience with container-based application architectures.
• Strong understanding of VMware / on-premises infrastructure.
• Understanding of CI/CD architecture and implementation.
• Experience contributing to technical design reviews and architectural governance.
• Ability to work across infrastructure, data, platform and application teams.
• Experience developing target-state architectures and technology roadmaps.
• Understanding of secure, scalable and resilient enterprise architectures.
• Knowledge of JSP453 and Architecture Policy.

Responsibilities

• Shape overall solution architecture and future-state architecture.

• Design and integrate enterprise data fabric solutions.

• Define data movement and interoperability across platforms.
• Provide input into container-based application architectures.
• Support scalable, resilient and modern application delivery.
• Contribute to Kubernetes and enterprise container platform architecture.
• Support the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, data and application teams.
• Provide technical challenge and guidance to ensure secure, scalable and resilient solutions.

• High Wycombe and/or Farnborough – 2–3 days onsite per week

THE DATA & SOLUTION ARCHITECT ROLE:

As a Data & Solution Architect, your primary responsibility will be translating technical and business requirements into Information Exchange Requirements (IERs) that define the data feeds and integrations required for a range of project use cases.
