Job summary

Lorien is recruiting a Solutions Architect with AI experience to join an insurance client on a 6-month hybrid contract inside IR35.

Responsibilities include designing end-to-end solutions across applications, data, integration and infrastructure, with emphasis on secure-by-design and AI-enabled architectures. Strong governance and regulatory alignment are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Certification in architecture or cloud (TOGAF, Azure) beneficial.
• Strong domain experience in financial services or pension industry.
• Proven solution design across applications, APIs, data, integration, infrastructure, security, and hybrid cloud.
• Knowledge of architectural principles, design patterns, and enterprise governance.
• Experience with AI-enabled architectures and GenAI/ML governance.
• Experience aligning AI solutions with compliance, audit and data protection.

• Design and oversee end-to-end solutions across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, and emerging capabilities such as AI
• Produce and maintain high-level and detailed solution design artefacts
• Strong awareness of cyber security principles (secure-by-design, Zero Trust)
• Ensure consistency and reuse across solutions and platforms
• Apply systems thinking to manage dependencies, integrations, and data flows

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Certification in architecture or cloud certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Azure) would be beneficial
• Strong domain experience working in financial services or pension industry
• Proven solution design expertise across applications, APIs, data, integration, infrastructure, security, and hybrid cloud architecture
• Demonstrate solid knowledge of architectural principles, design patterns, and enterprise governance practices
• such as .NET, Python/Django, C, C++, relational databases (Oracle/Postgresql/Azure SQL), PL/SQL, and React
• Comfortable working across a broad technology landscape, including modern engineering practices, cloud platforms, and legacy environments
• Practical experience or strong awareness of AI-enabled architectures, including embedding GenAI/ML capabilities into enterprise solutions with appropriate governance and controls
• Experience in aligning AI-enabled solutions with compliance, audit, and data protection requirements
