Job summary

Rolls‑Royce SMR is seeking a Solution Architect to support the Digital & IT Delivery team, delivering architectures across civil, construction, and digital engineering domains. You will shape scalable, secure solutions and provide governance and risk management in large programmes.

Based hybrid in the UK with options across Derby, Manchester or Warrington, you will engage with senior stakeholders, balance commercial and technical needs, and help drive a connected, high‑performing enterprise

Qualifications

  • A recognised architecture, technology or related qualification, or equivalent demonstrable industry experience.
  • Experience designing solution architectures across complex multi-system environments, ideally including engineering, construction or digital engineering platforms
  • Strong knowledge of systems integration, cloud technologies, enterprise architecture principles and information management

Solution Architect - Civil / Construction Software Salary Range: £58,250.00 - £76,450.00

This role is Hybrid and can be based from Derby, Manchester or Warrington. Our mission is to deliver clean, affordable energy for all. Our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) provides a British solution to a global energy challenge, and we are uniquely positioned to become a world leader in SMR technology and one of the UK's most significant clean energy exports. The Digital & IT team is enabling the technology foundations that will help transform nuclear energy delivery. Working across engineering, manufacturing, enterprise and digital platforms, we design innovative solutions that support rapid business growth while ensuring a secure, scalable and future‑ready technology landscape.

In this context, we are looking for a Solution Architect to support our Digital & IT Delivery team, reporting to the Solution Delivery Project Manager. This is a pivotal role that will shape and deliver technology solutions across critical business and engineering domains, helping create a connected, sustainable and high‑performing enterprise technology environment.

We'll ask you about your experience influencing technical direction, governing solution delivery and engaging senior stakeholders across large‑scale programmes.

This role can be based in Derby, Manchester or Warrington. We offer flexible and hybrid working, with regular office attendance expected alongside collaboration with stakeholders across the business.
