ISR Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Solution Architect for a remote, 3-month contract to support a public sector digital services delivery. The role requires turning complex requirements into clear designs and practical tasks, with API design, systems integration and cloud migration at the core.

You will work with delivery squads to shape solutions across platforms and external services, ensuring architecture assurance and governance throughout implementation.

• Proven solution architecture experience with strong software engineering background.
• Expertise in API design, system integration and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience extending existing platforms and planning technical migrations.
• Understanding of data architecture, networking and security considerations.
• Ability to translate architectural designs into practical engineering deliverables and work with multidisciplinary teams and external suppliers.

Responsabilidades

• Produce solution designs, architecture diagrams and low-level technical designs for prioritised workstreams.
• Design reusable APIs, service integrations and enhancements to existing platforms.
• Define technical requirements, dependencies and acceptance criteria for engineering tickets.
• Support technical migrations, ensuring data, network and security requirements are addressed.
• Progress architecture assurance and governance submissions, providing technical oversight throughout implementation.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support a public sector organisation delivering critical digital services with a strong software engineering background who can turn complex requirements into clear designs and practical development tasks.

Working alongside established delivery squads, you will design and assure technical solutions, resolve complex integration challenges and translate architecture into actionable engineering work and shape solutions across interconnected platforms and external services.

Your work will span API design, systems integration, platform enhancements and technical migrations, taking solutions from initial design through assurance and into implementation.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven Solution Architecture experience combined with a strong software engineering background.
• Expertise in API design, system integration and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience extending existing platforms and planning technical migrations.
• Understanding of data architecture, networking and security considerations.
• Ability to translate architectural designs into practical engineering deliverables and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external suppliers.
• This is an excellent opportunity for a technically hands‑on Solution Architect to shape and deliver complex solutions within a critical public health service.
