Job description

Techniche Global are supporting an engineering specialist in large–scale Industrial Dehumidification systems, as they seek to appoint a Design Engineer at their facility near Glossop.

Salary: GBP45,000 – GBP55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Office–based near Glossop, with occasional visits to customer sites for surveys and assessments.
Type: Monday–Friday, Full–time, permanent role

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in mechanical and piping design, using SolidWorks. You ll be working on complex plant–wide layouts, supporting both new projects and improvements to existing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks
• Design mechanical layouts including piping systems, equipment locations, gantries, and cable trays
• Conduct site surveys and translate findings into accurate engineering designs
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver solutions that meet client specifications
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement of designs

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience in mechanical design within an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Proficient in SolidWorks (essential)
• Strong understanding of piping and mechanical system layouts
• Knowledge of GD&T, logic controllers, and schematic interpretation (desirable)
• Strong problem–solving skills and a detail–oriented approach
