Job summary

A Scottish legal practice in Aberdeen is seeking a Private Client Solicitor with 2+ years PQE to join their Aberdeen team on a hybrid basis. You will be supported, collaborate with colleagues, and continue developing your expertise and career.

You will handle wills, Powers of Attorney, lifetime planning, and succession work while building strong client relationships and delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Scots Law with Private Client experience.
• 2+ years' PQE preferred.
• Strong Private Client experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident in managing own workload and caseload.
• Personable, client-focused approach.
• Genuine interest in developing Private Client career.
• Collaborative and willing to share knowledge across the team.
• STEP qualification, or interest in pursuing it, advantageous.

Responsibilities

Avenue Recruitment is delighted to be working on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded Scottish legal practice to recruit an experienced Private Client Solicitor for their Aberdeen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor with 2+ years' PQE who is passionate about Private Client work and looking to join a supportive, collaborative team where they can continue to develop their expertise and progress their career.

The role will include:

• Advising clients on Wills, Powers of Attorney and lifetime planning
• Drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney
• Providing succession planning and asset protection advice
• Advising on tax mitigation matters
• Handling the administration of executry and trust estatesManaging your own caseload while maintaining a high standard of client care
• Building strong, long-term relationships with clients
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting less experienced members of the team where appropriate

What we're looking for:

• Applicants must be qualified in Scots Law and have previous experience working within Private Client.
• Ideally, you will have 2+ years' PQE, alongside:
• Strong Private Client experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence managing your own workload and caseload
• A personable and client-focused approach
• A genuine interest in developing your Private Client career
• A collaborative approach and willingness to share knowledge across the team
• STEP qualification, or an interest in working towards this, would be advantageous
