DWF, a leading global provider of integrated legal and business services, is seeking a Solicitor or Associate to join its Financial and Professional Risks team in Leeds or Manchester. The role focuses on advising insurers and defending professionals against allegations of professional negligence within one of the largest defendant professional liability teams outside of London.

Ideally 1-5 years PQE experience in commercial litigation and professional negligence claims, with a 2:1 degree or PGDL

Qualifications

• Ideally 1-5 years PQE in commercial litigation and professional negligence.
• Minimum of a 2:1 law degree or a 2:1 non-law degree with PGDL.
• Strong technical skills, thorough grasp of Civil Procedure Rules, and excellent analytical abilities.

Responsabilités

• Progress the defense of multiple pre-action and litigated claims under partner supervision, including liaising with clients, third parties, and opponents.
• Carry out disclosure reviews, prepare cost budgets, and draft instructions to counsel and experts.
• Perform legal research concerning liability and the valuation of claims.
• Prepare court documents such as Claim Forms, Defences, Allocation Questionnaires, Lists of Documents, and hearing bundles.
• Achieve a time-recording target of 1,500 chargeable hours in the financial year and engage in business development initiatives.
