Solicitor / Associate - Commercial Contracts & Intellectual Property - Cardiff - 2+ Years PQE

Location: Cardiff (Hybrid)

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £45,000 to £65,000 (depending on experience)

A well-regarded commercial law firm is seeking a proactive and commercially minded Solicitor or Associate to join its growing Commercial team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse client base across sectors, advising on commercial agreements, intellectual property, and data protection matters, while shaping your career in a supportive and ambitious environment.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements (NDAs, supply contracts, T&C's, collaboration and development agreements)
  • Advising on IP ownership, protection, and licensing
  • Providing guidance on data protection compliance
  • Managing your own caseload with support from senior colleagues
  • Supporting business development and marketing initiatives
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • Minimum 2 years PQE in commercial contracts and IP law
  • A 2:1 degree or above
  • Strong knowledge of data protection legislation
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills
  • Commercial awareness and confidence in client‑facing work
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with enthusiasm for networking and growth
  • A collaborative and dynamic approach to teamwork

More experienced candidates will be considered for an Associate‑level position.
