Role Description: Solicitor – Commercial Litigation

Full-time (or consultancy)

Remote (UK-based)

SRA-regulated in England and Wales

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join our growing disputes team. This is a key role for a self-starting, forward-thinking litigator who can manage their own caseload and deliver high-quality advice to clients with minimal supervision.

About the Role

You will handle a broad range of commercial disputes, including (but not limited to):

• Breach of contract claims
• Director, shareholder and partnership disputes
• Debt recovery and enforcement
• Professional negligence
• Civil fraud and misrepresentation
• Urgent injunction and freezing order applications
• High Court and County Court litigation

Our clients include:

• Business owners and directors
• Entrepreneurs and HNWIs
• UK and international SMEs
• Property developers and investors
• Start-ups and fast-growth businesses

This role is ideal for a solicitor who:

Has 3+ years of solid litigation experience (more or less considered based on merit)

Can run cases end-to-end, from pre-action through to trial or settlement

Is commercially astute and confident advising clients directly

Takes initiative, spots opportunities, and contributes to business development

Wants the autonomy to build a practice within a collaborative and supportive firm

You’ll work closely with other disputes lawyers at Spencer West and have the freedom to work remotely from anywhere in the UK. You’ll also benefit from the firm’s infrastructure, cross-practice collaboration, and platform for growth.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with a valid practising certificate
• Strong working knowledge of CPR and litigation strategy
• Excellent drafting and client-handling skills
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Experience with remote or flexible working is a plus
