Job summary

Rock Recruitment is seeking a Technical Solar Designer/Surveyor to oversee residential and commercial solar PV projects from design through installation. This office-based role focuses on providing technical guidance to installation teams and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

You will lead designs, mentor staff, and work with suppliers to deliver safe, compliant solar solutions across sectors. A strong background in solar PV design and battery storage is required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Solar PV Installation and Commissioning qualification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent Inspection and Testing qualification.
• Strong experience in solar PV system design and battery storage.
• Knowledge of MCS standards and DNO requirements.
• Experience using solar design software such as PVSol, EasyPV or SolarEdge Designer.
• Good technical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing and reviewing solar PV system designs and specifications.
