Job summary

Greenvolt Next is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of our solar PV portfolio across the UK. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis and accurate reporting, with regular travel to customer and project sites including overnight stays.

You will monitor performance via SCADA, coordinate with contractors, manage RAMS and permits, and support outage planning while upholding safety, quality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in solar PV, electrical maintenance or renewable energy.
• Experience maintaining and fault-finding on commercial, ground-mounted or utility-scale solar PV systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and complete accurate maintenance reports.
• Working knowledge of RAMS, Permit-to-Work procedures, electrical isolation and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out scheduled preventative maintenance across C&I and utility-scale solar PV systems.
• Inspect PV modules, mounting systems, inverters, AC/DC cabling and monitoring systems.
• Diagnose and resolve faults including inverter trips and system underperformance.
• Coordinate contractor supervision and ensure safety and permits compliance.
• Produce clear site reports and maintain asset-management records.
• Support monthly O&M reports with system condition updates.
