Job summary

Birchwell Associates Ltd is seeking an experienced Solar Electrician to join a growing renewable energy contractor delivering Solar PV and battery storage projects across Devon and surrounding areas.

The role is hands-on, requiring strong installation, testing and fault-finding skills within both domestic and commercial settings. Candidates should hold 18th Edition, City & Guilds 2391, and a Level 3 electrical qualification, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• 18th Edition
• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing
• Relevant Level 3 electrical qualification / apprenticeship
• Strong electrical installation experience
• Experience with Solar PV installations
• Good testing and fault-finding ability
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Installing and commissioning Solar PV systems
• Battery storage installation
• Inverter installation and connection
• AC electrical works associated with renewable energy systems
• Testing, inspection and certification
• Fault finding and remedial works
• Consumer unit and electrical upgrades where required
• Working from electrical drawings and specifications
• Ensuring installations comply with BS 7671 and relevant industry standards
• Completing work to a high standard while maintaining excellent health and safety practices
• Liaising with customers, site teams and project management
