Job summary

1 Vision Solar is seeking a Solar PV Electrician to lead DC electrical installation and commissioning of solar PV and battery storage systems across domestic, commercial, and industrial projects. The role requires full electrical qualifications with the ability to tackle AC work when needed and to travel across South Wales and the UK.

The position offers a permanent, PAYE arrangement with a company van, fuel card, overtime opportunities and ongoing training in leading solar technologies.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrician with DC solar PV experience.
• 18th Edition (BS 7671) compliant.
• Valid ECS Gold Card or equivalent evidence.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and installation instructions.
• Strong safety awareness and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install DC solar PV cabling and equipment.
• Install DC isolators, protection devices and containment.
• Connect PV strings to inverters and perform testing.
• Install battery storage systems and hybrid inverters.
• Conduct commissioning and maintenance within competence.
• Ensure AC work is done to BS 7671 when required.
• Assist with or lead equipment commissioning and safety checks.
