Job summary

Climate17 are recruiting an Electrical O&M Technician to support a portfolio of solar PV farms across the Dorset & Hampshire region. The role involves routine maintenance, testing and allocated remedial work on deployed solar PV systems.

You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance per the annual plan, fault finding, and conduct risk assessments with RAMS. You will coordinate third‑party contractors and maintain audit‑ready records.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Maintenance or Engineering required.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations required.
• C&G 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent desirable.
• Full UK driving licence essential.
• Experience carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Fault finding and diagnostic experience on electrical systems.
• Experience maintaining mechanical and electrical building services.
• Ability to interpret and work from Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
• Experience RAMS and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Corrective Maintenance as required.
• Report activities on site daily via CMMS or reports.
• Own risk assessment and operational limitations; report near misses.
• Supervise and coordinate third‑party contractors on site.
• Coordinate contractors to comply with H&S regulations.
• Maintain detailed electrical testing records for audit purposes.
• Fault find for systems not performing correctly.
• Alert line manager to any issues.

Summary

Climate17 are working alongside a leading owner-operator of large-scale solar PV projects in the UK. They are actively searching for an electrical technical to join them as a Solar Farm O&M Technician to carry out a mixture of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across their portfolio of solar farms in the region.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for routine maintenance, testing, and remedial work on deployed solar PV systems
• Responsible for performing Preventative Maintenance accordingly with the PPM annual plan
• Responsible for performing Corrective Maintenance as occur
• Reporting of activities performed on site, daily basis, through the CMMS or manual reports as applicable
• Own risk assessment, analysis and operational Limitations. Report all near misses to line manager
• Responsible for supervision and coordination of third-party contractors carrying out works on site
• Coordinate third party contractors to comply with H&S Regulations
• Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, that are suitable for audit
• Fault finding for any system that is not performing correctly
• Alert the line manager of any issues

Experience

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation, Maintenance or Engineering
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• C&G 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Experience carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance
• Fault finding and diagnostic experience on electrical systems
• Experience maintaining mechanical and electrical building services
• Ability to interpret and work from Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams and schematic drawings
• Experience carrying out electrical isolation procedures and safe systems of work
• Experience producing or working to Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
• Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
• Experience completing maintenance records and compliance documentation
• Solar PV experience (desirable)
