Job summary

DCC Energy GB in Great Britain is seeking a Design Technician to support Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System projects. You will work within the Technical & Engineering team, contributing to concept designs through to as-built documentation.

You’ll produce technical drawings, assist with CAD modelling and maintain design records, with a focus on accuracy and coordination across Applications, Engineering and Project Delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience producing technical drawings or engineering documentation.
• Experience within engineering, construction, building services, renewable energy or a similar technical environment.
• Good technical aptitude and ability to interpret engineering information.
• Experience using CAD or technical design software.
• Strong attention to detail and document control skills.
• Ability to work accurately with technical drawings, schedules and project information.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• A proactive approach to learning and developing technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Producing technical drawings, layouts and design documentation for commercial and industrial Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
• Supporting the development of Solar PV and BESS designs through modelling, CAD and technical design software.
• Creating and maintaining design schedules, technical documentation, drawing registers and as-built information.
• Assisting Design Engineers with engineering calculations, design reviews and technical coordination activities.
• Working closely with Applications, Engineering and Project Delivery teams to ensure accurate and coordinated project design information.
• Supporting projects throughout design, construction, commissioning and handover phases.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of design processes, standards and technical documentation.
• Developing your technical expertise in Solar PV, BESS and renewable energy engineering as part of a structured career pathway towards Design Engineer level.
