About the Role:

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the global energy market. The company has a vast portfolio of renewable energy assets and a brilliant company culture of looking after their employees. We're looking for someone who already has experience in utility scale solar or BESS systems but are also open to those looking for their break into the industry, so please apply if you fit either criteria.

This Field Service Technician / Solar Technician / BESS Technician comes with an excellent salary, depending on your experience, which will be discussed upon conversation with Astute.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will:

1. Ensure the best performance of battery storage and large-scale solar assets.
2. Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar and battery sites in Northampton.
3. Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties.
4. Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues.
5. Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets.
6. Gain Authorised Person status after receiving training.
7. Consistent inspection, maintenance, and testing of the systems.
8. Look for trends and use data analysis to identify common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result.
9. Occasionally assist with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance, and site CCTV.
10. Occasionally work away from your patch/area and be flexible to help when the business needs this.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

1. Level 3 in electrical installations as a minimum.
2. 18th edition wiring regulations.
3. Ideally, you will have C&G 2391 or equivalent.
4. A HSE qualification is desired.
5. Experience within a solar or BESS environment is hugely beneficial.
6. UK driving licence is essential.

The Solar & Battery Storage Technician role would suit someone who is:

2. Experienced in liaising with third parties and troubleshooting.
3. Skilled in reading, writing, and assessing RAMS.
