Leap29 is recruiting for Senior Technician and Technician roles at solar sites across Yorkshire, Huddersfield, Warwickshire, Nottingham, and Buckinghamshire. These professionals will join the O&M team in the UK.

Job Overview:

As part of your role, you will:

1. Engage in all Operations & Maintenance (O&M) tasks to improve and maintain LV and HV electrical networks across various sites.
2. Manage and assist in executing maintenance activities efficiently.
3. Ensure compliance with the company's Electrical Safety Rules (ESRs).
4. Conduct scheduled preventive and unscheduled corrective maintenance.
5. Maintain detailed records of HV/LV maintenance activities, including those performed by contractors.
6. Develop in-house Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) for LV works.
7. Uphold electrical safety standards during LV and other electrical operations.
8. Contribute to developing new maintenance procedures.
9. Identify resources, subcontractors, or suppliers needed for maintenance activities.
10. Oversee contractor activities for smooth maintenance execution.
11. Handle administrative tasks such as labor returns, timesheets, expenses, and materials.
12. Collaborate with operational management and site operatives on daily issues.
13. Perform Electrical Site Technician duties, diagnosing electrical issues on DC and LV systems.
14. Submit LV switching schedules aligned with project timelines.
15. Promote a positive HS&E culture and suggest improvements.
16. Identify opportunities for process improvements and training, reporting findings to senior management.

What You Bring:

• A solid background in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience as a field technician in PV Solar or BESS projects.
• Qualified Electrician with strong mechanical knowledge.
• Proficiency in electrical systems design and solar energy connections.
• Completion of industry-recognized HV courses (HV AP 2/ AP3 Authorization).
• Experience with test equipment, fault finding, VLF testing, and insulation resistance testing.
• Knowledge of renewable energy installations, including O&M and construction.
