ADAS, a part of RSK Group, is looking for a Soils Research Consultant with the knowledge and drive to further develop our business in improving soil and nutrient management. This role will be based in Cambridge, UK on a full-time, permanent basis.

The ADAS Soils and Nutrients Team delivers research and consultancy projects for clients including government, levy bodies, the European Commission, and corporate organizations. The successful candidate will contribute to current research projects investigating soil quality, crop nutrition, and the utilization of organic materials in agricultural systems. The role involves writing scientific papers and reports, developing proposals, and representing ADAS at industry events and scientific conferences.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate scientific and research skills and contribute to existing projects and new funding proposals.
  2. Understand policy issues related to soil and nutrient management and principles of crop nutrient management.
  3. Analyze and interpret experimental data.
  4. Write experiment protocols, project reports, and scientific papers.
  5. Present results at meetings, industry events, and scientific conferences.
  6. Build internal and external contacts and develop expertise.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree or equivalent in Soil Science, Agricultural and Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Understanding of soil and nutrient management in agriculture.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with clients and collaborators, and work as part of a team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Flexibility for travel within the UK, Europe, and beyond.

Salary and Benefits

  • £26,000 - £35,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
