About

Software Tester - Hybrid working in Chichester, West Sussex – 2 days per week in office

My client is a multinational financial services company catering to the pension, insurance, and mortgage marketplaces. We are looking for a Software Tester who is local to their Chichester offices and has experience in Manual and some Automation Software Testing to work on their web applications based on a SaaS model for specific financial services products.

About the Role

As a Software Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. You will be part of a small testing team, responsible for quality assurance and testing of systems, including integrations from third-party providers, and helping to develop automation scripts for Web UIs and backend APIs. Collaboration with developers and support teams is essential, along with performing end-to-end testing and providing feedback.

Role Responsibilities

1. Contributing to test planning.
2. Collaborating with project teams to understand project scope.
3. Working closely with developers and support teams.
4. Building automation test scripts for Web UIs and APIs.
5. Conducting various testing types: functional, scalability, regression, discovery, stress, and performance testing.
6. Testing development work to meet acceptance criteria and specifications.
7. Writing and executing test plans.
8. Testing across different environments, including web and mobile.
9. Documenting and communicating findings.
10. Writing bug reports and assessing code quality.
11. Identifying issues and raising tickets.
12. Performing other testing activities as needed.
13. Providing objective feedback to development teams.
14. Troubleshooting issues and designing risk mitigation tests.
15. Adhering to departmental and project deadlines.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in integration and system software testing, preferably in financial services.
• Experience with Automation tools like Postman, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Experience with the .NET stack and MVC is advantageous.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and Kanban boards is advantageous.
• Experience in setting up and building automated test scripts is advantageous.
• Certification in Software Testing (ISTQB / ISEB) is advantageous.
