Job summary

Stratospherec Ltd in Chichester, West Sussex, is seeking a Software Tester for a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role is hybrid with 2 days per week in the office, starting 28th September 2026. The salary ranges from £40,000 to £50,000 per year, with employee benefits.

You will contribute to test planning, collaborate with project teams, and build automation scripts for web UIs and APIs within a SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in integration and system software testing.
• Experience in manual testing with automation exposure.
• Familiarity with automation tools like Postman, Cypress or Selenium.
• Advantage: .NET stack and MVC, Azure DevOps and Kanban.
• Advantage: building automated test scripts; ISTQB/ISEB accreditation.
• Strong deadlines, teamwork, attention to detail and communication.

Job description

Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of integration and system software testing experience.
• Experience in manual testing and some automation software testing.
• Experience using automation tools such as Postman, Cypress, or Selenium would be useful.
• Experience working with the .Net stack and specifically MVC would be an advantage.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps and Kanban boards would be an advantage.
• Experience with setting up and building automated test script tools would be an advantage.
• Accreditation in Software Certified Testing (ISTQB / ISEB) would be an advantage.
• Working to deadlines, team collaboration, attention to detail, analytical skills, and effective communication are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute towards test planning.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand the scope of projects.
• Work closely with software developers and project support teams.
• Build automation test scripts for web UIs and APIs.
• Conduct testing including functional, scalability, regression, discovery, stress, and performance testing.
• Test development work to ensure acceptance criteria has been met and that it functions in line with the development specification.
• Write and execute test plans.
• Test software in different environments, including web and mobile platforms.
• Document and communicate findings to technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Write bug reports and assess code quality.
• Identify issues and raise tickets.
• Carry out other testing activities as required.
• Provide objective feedback to software development project teams.
• Troubleshoot issues and design tests to mitigate risks.
• Ensure adherence to departmental and project deadlines.

We are a multinational financial services company serving the pension, insurance, and mortgage marketplaces. This is a 6 month fixed-term contract with a start date of 28th September 2026. The role is hybrid, based in our Chichester, West Sussex offices, with 2 days per week in the office, negotiable. The salary is equivalent to £40k to £50k for the 6 month period, plus employee benefits. We are looking for a local Software Tester to join our small software testing team and help support web applications delivered on a SaaS model for specific financial services products.
