Job summary

Deccan Enterprise Ltd – London E15 is seeking a Software Tester to establish and enhance standard testing procedures for functional and non-functional requirements. The role offers ownership of the test environment, evaluates current procedures, and recommends improvements to the testing strategy.

The position requires experience in software testing, familiarity with SQL databases, and ISTQB/ISEB certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in software/systems testing, able to plan tests and estimate work.
• Knowledge of SQL, Oracle/SQL Server desirable.
• Good time management to multi task on complex overlapping activities.
• Proficiency in using IDEs, version control systems and bug reporting tools.
• Good technical understanding of computing devices and operating systems.
• Automated testing not required but beneficial.
• ISEB Foundation Level or ISTQB certified.

Responsibilities

• Integrating testing best practice within an Agile software development environment.
• Defining and documenting test scenarios and acceptance criteria for the product suite, whilst carrying out testing throughout the project lifecycle.
• Providing feedback to colleagues to allow for corrections and inform future development.
• Creating testing documentation including test plans, use cases and issue logs.
• Defining and managing an inventory for test cases and analysing for missing information.
• Designing, implementing and managing test conditions, scripts and controls.
• Advising users through acceptance testing to ensure testing is purposeful.
• Ongoing evaluation of testing procedures and recommending improvements.
• Graduate/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant workexperience.

Software Tester responsibilities will include
