Job summary

Oxford Instruments, Materials Analysis, is seeking a Senior Software Developer/Team Leader to drive high quality C# software while leading a small dev team. The role combines people management with hands-on development in a hybrid setup, keeping close to architecture and delivery.

You will mentor engineers, participate in design reviews, and help shape an engineering culture that emphasizes performance, quality and collaboration across R&D stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Work within an Agile team to develop high quality functionality to agreed specifications and timescales.
  • Use internal software design methodologies to develop robust components and systems.
  • Participate in software design reviews and trials of new tools and techniques.
  • Provide ongoing support for new and existing products.
  • Provide and update documentation to aid maintenance and internal customers.
  • Coordinate technical solutions within specific software projects.
  • Support, coach and mentor a team of developers.

Your day to day will look like...
  • Working within an Agile team to develop high quality functionality to agreed specifications and timescales
  • Using our internally defined software design methodologies and tools to develop robust software components and systems
  • Be an active member of the software team, participating in software design reviews and in discussions and trials of new tools and techniques
  • As necessary, provide ongoing support for new and existing products.
  • Provide and update appropriate documentation that facilitates others to further develop or maintain the software and systems that you produce and enables your internal customers to do their work (SQA, Help and Localisation specialists, Applications Scientists, Product Managers and Customer Support staff).
  • Take responsibility for co-ordination of technical solutions within specific software development projects.
  • Support, coach and mentor a team of developers

In this role, you will also be responsible for a small team of developers.
