Job description

About The Job

Games Workshop has an exciting opportunity for a Software Quality Engineer on an 18-month fixed term contract. We’re looking for someone who is technically skilled and a strong communicator who can overcome critical problems at pace, driven by a passion for testing and delivering quality to ensure a better user experience. As a Quality Engineer with a customer-focused lens, their needs will always be your priority as you take an inquisitive, risk-based approach to testing, ensuring you exchange ideas and experiences to boost the quality and efficiency of our digital platforms. Your skills will enable you to perform software testing, ensuring adherence to testing principles, and having an active involvement in software delivery at all stages, from development through to implementation and maintenance. Always setting a positive example, you will oversee the creation and execution of test cases, both manual and automated, and support the team to ensure the development of successful, reliable tests. In addition, you will review internal processes to ensure appropriate levels of automated test coverage are achieved and maintained through the Software Development Life Cycle. Being knowledgeable in your field, you will have experience of manual and automated testing, and multiple levels of testing, including System, Integration and Regression whilst working as part of an AGILE delivery team. You will also be familiar with security and accessibility testing. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being involved in software delivery from end to end and takes real pride in what they do. You’ll be organised, communicate clearly, and confident in keeping people in the loop on progress, availability, and any testing updates. Working closely with others comes naturally to you, whether that’s within the team or across the wider business, and you’ll understand the value of positive, productive working relationships. You’ll need to be adaptable, resourceful, and happy to adjust your approach when things change, always finding practical ways to solve problems and keep work moving forward on schedule. Attention to detail matters and you’ll need to be objective and clear when reporting progress. You’ll also be mindful of costs, provide operational support when needed, and always aim to do what’s right for the business and the customers.

Working at Games Workshop

At Games Workshop we are looking for people who will do their best to understand the needs of the company and to put those needs first when they are at work. Because of this we believe that what you are like, hence the attitude you show to work and the way you choose to behave is even more important than your skills and experience. The Warhammer World site is based just outside of Nottingham city centre and benefits from a nearby tram stop and free onsite car parking. In return for your hard work, you will receive 33 days holiday per year (including public holidays), matching contributory pension scheme up to 7.5%, profit share bonus (subject to GW meeting profit targets) and option to join our Share Save scheme. Oh and let’s not forget, a staff discount of between 25% and 50% on our products!
