We are seeking a highly qualified Software Platform Engineerfor a hybrid work role out of ourBroomfield, CO location to support the development of our current and next-generation quantum computers.

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Platform Engineer with DevOps experience in our Broomfield, CO location. Our on-prem server applications are a critical element within the full software stack supporting our world-leading Quantum Computing capabilities. We’re looking for someone who can quickly leverage their existing skillset to work on new features and updates, while also helping to define how to improve our systems going forward. Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement, validate, and optimize high-availability approaches for our data storage (PostgreSQL, Influx, Redis, etc)
  • Maintain and enhance our Kubernetes infrastructure spanning multiple clusters
  • Refactor microservice database interaction patterns for robustness across codebases and create shared client libraries
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain software applications for the software stack supporting our Quantum Computers, adhering to and enhancing best practices and testing coverage
  • Prepare and build observability features and processes for the cluster, such as performance metrics collection and alerting
  • Collaborate with the broader software team at Quantinuum to accomplish large-scale projects that span the software stack
  • Continuously update and backfill key documentation
  • Perform the responsible engineer role by driving design, execution, and delivery of projects, serving as the single point of responsibility throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • This role involves monitoring systems, responding to incidents, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that services are restored quickly when problems occur.
  • Demo projects that are in progress to get feedback, and clearly communicate features to end users
  • Provide ongoing support to users ranging from answering questions to diagnosing and debugging issues
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 4+ years of experience with Python, Go, or Java
  • 2+ years of experience working hands-on with distributed database/cache systems
  • 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes in an enterprise environment
  • 2+ years of experience working on production level software
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:
  • Advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience using modern cloud development tools for container orchestration, such as GCP, in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure
  • Experience with NoSQL type of database such as MongoDB and DynamoDB
  • Experience with ELK stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana)
  • Demonstrated experience in microservice architecture and development, as well as full-stack development
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and clearly document and communicate solutions
  • Expertise in working with diverse data representations and data structures
  • Proficiency with container/image technologies like Docker or Vagrant
  • Strong skills in software testing and deployment tools
  • Knowledge of back-end server infrastructure, including queues, messaging, and databases
  • Proficiency in developing software for Linux, Docker, and similar environments
  • Strong documentation practices and commitment to maintaining up-to-date documentation
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

$135,000 - $175,000 a year
