Software Manager – Strategic IT Operations

We are seeking a Software Manager – Strategic IT Operations for a long-term contract with potential to convert or extend (Remote role)

Seeking a technically fluent Software Manager to provide operational continuity and strategic oversight for our SaaS platform during a key leadership transition. This role is designed to support non-technical executives with software project planning, cost analysis, and engineering coordination—without requiring day-to-day coding responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has a background in software engineering, understands the full software development lifecycle, and can speak confidently about tradeoffs in architecture, tools, and vendor solutions. You will collaborate with engineers, product leadership, and vendors to keep our platform running effectively and transparently.

Qualifications

• Background in software engineering, product development, or technical project management.
• 5+ years in a coordination/leadership role within a SaaS or software organization.
• Fluent in Agile practices, release management, and distributed team coordination.
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, AWS, Git, and CI/CD concepts.
• Skilled at translating technical complexity into actionable business choices.
• Remote work within US time zones (8AM–6PM EST core availability).
• Collaborative engineering team, UX/QA support, and executive access.
• Close involvement with the outgoing IT Director for initial onboarding and documentation handoff.

Bonus Experience

• Exposure to FedRAMP or compliance frameworks.
• Experience managing software inherited from offshore vendors.
• Familiarity with budget management or procurement cycles for software tools and services.
